Your privacy is foundational to how we build our products. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the controls you have over your information.
True Synthesis Inc ("True Synthesis," "we," "us," or "our") is a Texas C Corporation that develops AI-powered software development tools. Our flagship product, VerdictIDE, is an AI-native integrated development environment available at verdictide.com. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our websites (truesynthesisai.com and verdictide.com), our desktop applications, cloud services (collectively, the "Services"), and when you otherwise interact with us.
By accessing or using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use our Services.
Our Privacy Commitment: True Synthesis was founded on the principle that developers should not have to sacrifice privacy for AI-powered productivity. VerdictIDE is designed with a local-first architecture -- your code and project data remain on your machine by default. Cloud features are entirely optional and always require your explicit action.
Your Source Code (Local Mode): When using VerdictIDE in its default local-inference mode, your source code, project files, and AI prompts are processed entirely on your machine. We have no access to, and do not collect, transmit, or store this data.
Sensitive Personal Data: We do not knowingly collect sensitive categories of personal information, such as biometric data, genetic data, health information, religious beliefs, or precise geolocation data.
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
No AI Training on Your Code: We do not use your source code, prompts, or AI-generated outputs to train, fine-tune, or improve our AI models, nor do we permit third parties to do so, unless you have explicitly opted in to such use. Anonymized and aggregated usage statistics (not containing any source code) may be used to improve service quality.
Account information and cloud service data are stored on servers located in the United States. We use industry-standard cloud infrastructure providers that maintain SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certifications. For users of our local-only features, all data remains on your personal hardware and is never transmitted to our servers.
We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect your personal information, including:
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. Specifically:
When your data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it. If immediate deletion is not feasible (for example, data in backup archives), we isolate the data from further processing until deletion is possible.
We recognize that source code and project data are among the most sensitive assets a developer has. Our approach to your code is defined by the operating mode you choose:
When you use VerdictIDE's local inference capabilities, all AI processing occurs directly on your hardware. Your code, prompts, and AI-generated suggestions never leave your machine. We have zero visibility into your local development activity.
When you configure VerdictIDE to use your own API keys for third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google), your prompts and code context are transmitted directly from your machine to the third-party provider. True Synthesis does not intercept, store, or have access to this traffic. The third party's own privacy policy governs their handling of your data.
When you optionally use Verdict Cloud for cloud-based AI inference:
VerdictIDE supports routing AI inference to servers on your local network. In this mode, all data remains within your network. True Synthesis has no access to data processed via LAN inference.
We work with a limited number of third-party service providers to operate and improve our Services. These providers are contractually obligated to handle your data in accordance with our instructions and applicable data protection laws.
Beyond our service providers, we may disclose your personal information in the following circumstances:
We Do Not Sell Your Data. True Synthesis does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing or advertising purposes. We do not participate in data brokerage or cross-contextual behavioral advertising.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. We honor these rights for all users, regardless of location.
If you are a resident of a U.S. state with comprehensive privacy legislation (such as Texas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, or other applicable states), you have the following additional rights:
Under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA), Texas residents have the right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of their personal data, as well as the right to opt out of targeted advertising and profiling. We do not engage in targeted advertising or profiling activities.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have additional rights including the right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA.
If you are located outside the United States, please be aware that your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our servers are located. We take appropriate measures to ensure your data is handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy, regardless of where it is processed.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process personal data on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (providing the Services), legitimate interest (improving our products, preventing fraud), compliance with legal obligations, and consent (where applicable).
To exercise any of the rights described above, please contact us at contact@truesynthesisai.com. We will respond to your request within 45 days (or sooner where required by law). We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. If we deny a request, you may appeal by contacting us at the same email address.
Our Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information as promptly as possible. If you believe that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at contact@truesynthesisai.com.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will:
